Lubbock Moonlight Musicals kicks off its 2021 Summer season time with “The Seem of Songs,” by Rodgers and Hammerstein, scheduled for June 10-12, 17-19, 24-26, at the Moonlight Musicals Amphitheater, 413 E. Broadway. The demonstrate commences at 8 p.m.

This Rodgers and Hammerstein classic musical is probably most remembered as the 1965 American film produced and directed by Robert Intelligent, and starring Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer. The film is an adaptation of the 1959 stage musical.
Based mostly on the 1949 memoir “The Tale of the Trapp Relatives Singers” by Maria von Trapp, the film is about a young Austrian postulant in Salzburg, Austria, in 1938 who is despatched to the villa of a retired naval officer and widower to be governess to his seven little ones.
Maria (portrayed by Lauren Robinson) is a totally free-spirited young Austrian girl researching to grow to be a nun at Nonnberg Abbey in Salzburg in 1938. Her youthful enthusiasm and absence of self-discipline induce some problem.
The Mother Abbess (Mariann Davidson) sends Maria to the villa of retired naval officer Captain Georg von Trapp (Sean Riley Cunningham) to be governess to his 7 youngsters — Liesl, Friedrich, Louisa, Kurt, Brigitta, Marta, and Gretl (portrayed by Sydney Dotson, Gabe Gerhart, Reagan Ramsey, Mason Wittie, Samantha Cunningham, Antonia Racz Crucial and Lucy Lemon, respectively.)
The Captain has been boosting his children by yourself employing strict army self-control adhering to the dying of his spouse. Whilst the kids misbehave at first, Maria responds with kindness and persistence, and shortly the small children arrive to trust and respect her.
